If I, in fact, were a fan of Angels, I would write about how extreme it was for the Angels to lose on Mike Trout’s birthday tonight despite Mike Trout plucking one 450ft to give his team a 2-0 lead to give, about five minutes into the game.
I’m not an Angels fan, so I’ll just laugh at the fact that the Angels lost last night on Mike Trout’s birthday night despite Mike Trout plucking one 450 ft to give his team a 2-0 lead in a few minutes of the game.
The Rangers won despite collecting only five hits on the night and I feel that was mostly because they play a team that most closely resembles what we have seen so far this season from the Rangers themselves. That is to say, this was a mess.
Texas was actually only 1-for-10 with laps in scoring position, but scored four runs through a sac-fly, bases loaded walk, wrong pickoff throw, and a bases loaded HBP. The Angels counted a total of three errors to put three undeserved runs on their pitchers, while those pitchers did not help themselves as they ran six Rangers hitters.
Anyway, sorry you ruined your career in Anaheim, Mike. Happy Birthday!
Player of the game: Tonight’s game was like three and a half hours of your neighbor’s unironically playing nü-metal really loud until Jonathan Hernandez arrived and put sound-canceling headphones on your ears and then you played a melody so fair that it made you cry.
Next: More Rangers and Angels on Saturday night as Kolby Allard takes the turn for Texas against LHP Patrick Sandoval for the Angels. First pitch of The Shed is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT.
