Lori Loughlin one has a husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are about to learn their fate in their case of college admission, and there are some interesting twists.
The hearing will close Friday afternoon – it will be a virtual appearance with Lori and Mossimo via Zoom from their home in Los Angeles. As we reported, they struck back a plea deal with federal prosecutors in May.
Both plead guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and post fraud – and Lori agreed to serve 2 months in prison, while Mossimo will do 5 months. He also pleaded guilty to an additional charge of honest service wire and postal fraud.
Based on their deal, house arrest is off the table … they’ll have to go to jail.
Now the judge has the power to accept the pleading behavior, propose several sentences or reject it completely. Typically, the judge accepts the deal, but if he does not or does not want a harsher sentence … Lori and Mossimo can plead guilty or withdraw and start from square one.
Assuming the judge accepts the deal, the Federal Board of Prisons will decide where Lori and Mossimo will serve their sentences. Given that both are for the first time criminals, convicted of non-violent crimes, it is likely that they will go to a minimal security facility – not unlike those in Northern California where Felicity Huffman those 11 days soft time.
You will remember … Lori and Mossimo were just 2 of the 53 people charged in the college admissions scandal. They were accused of pay $ 500,000 in bribes to get their daughters Olivia Jade en Bella in USC, and take a picture to show that the girls were rowers from high school.
One last thing … seeing the COVID pandemic, once Lori and Mossimo start serving their sentence … if the virus spreads in prison, they could ask for compassionate release and serve the balance at home. That has already been done in a number of cases, so it’s a real possibility for them.
