Lordstown shows the first interior renderings of the Endurance electric truck

Lordstown Motors today released two interior versions of the fully electric Endurance pickup with production intent (unveiled in June), showing the view from the driver’s perspective.

There’s a fairly simple multi-button steering wheel, a long narrow instrument panel / infotainment display, and the center console with main settings, as well as a place for a phone and cup holder.

It is not a sophisticated design, but after all it looks like a cheap truck for business purposes.

The design and prototyping of the vehicle is carried out in collaboration with California-based Hydra Design Labs.

However, what caught our attention in the manufacturer’s information is the part about customer deliveries. The company said Endurance is scheduled to begin delivery to customers next summer “, which, if we understand it correctly, is a second delay (after the first movement from the end of 2020 / December 2020 to January 2021).

The summer of 2021 seems more reasonable, as the 2020/2021 deadline was somewhat extraordinary. It is not a trivial matter to develop a truck and start production within a year or so. Now, it’s still ambitious and challenging, but not so extreme.

On the plus side, the company has received over 20,000 non-binding orders and LOIs for Endurance so far:

“… pre-orders and LOIs exceeded the initial target of 20,000 trucks in 2021.”
