The electric truck market is rapidly saturating with both startups and veteran automakers, and the latest company to officially introduce its electric truck is Lordstown Motors and its Endurance truck.

The official Endurance reveal on June 25 at the Lordstown Motors factory in Ohio, while not as publicized as the first debut of a Tesla electric van, saw guests such as Vice President Mike Pence and the United States Secretary of Energy , Dan Brouillette.

Although Tesla held its launch event seven months before Lordstown Motors, the Endurance is poised to beat the controversial Cybertruck on the market. According to Lordstown, Endurance will be the first all-electric truck in the US with plans to begin deliveries in the late summer of 2021.

This may be before Tesla, which will begin production of the Cybertruck in late 2021 with its rear-drive single-engine variant that will begin production in late 2022, according to the Tesla website.

Despite the electrified characteristics of each of the rival vehicles, the three variants of Endurance and Cybertruck (single-engine rear-wheel drive, all-wheel-drive four-wheel drive and three-wheel drive all-wheel drive) have differences in specifications such as top speed and seating capacity, although there are some specific performance similarities between the Endurance and the Cybertruck single-engine vehicle.
