Looking at the running back room after Fenwick’s transfer

The NCAA transfer portal claimed the sixth member of the South Carolina football team on Thursday evening when he was running behind Deshaun Fenwick Admitted, signaling his intention to leave the program. Fenwick served as a productive season bout for gamex in 2020 Kevin Harris.

Fenwick, who entered the season-sharing with Harris before the backup, has 297 yards and 54 carry for a touchdown. He averaged .5..5 yards per rush, ranking eighth in the Southeast Conference among players carrying more than 50.

The former three-star recruit, who had a 100-yard pairing in his career, will definitely miss out. After waiting his turn behind four seniors in 2019, he again withdrew the first 1000-yard racer built by Gamek 2013X.

While most of the transfers from the South Carolina program have come to locations that were already short on depth, the Silver Lining for Gamecocks is the running back position at this stage to feel healthy. Here’s a look at what’s running behind Gamecocks in 2021, with players listed by classification.

Junior Zaikundre White – It remains to be seen whether White will complete White’s ball by the 2021 season. He left Florida State, in part because he wanted to play running back so his late season move in Gamecox’s defense he probably doesn’t want to make long term. Gamecox, however, needs a ton of help in secondary. White had only a few carry last season – 16 rushing for 59 yards in part, due to ball safety issues. He dropped a ball to the ground early in the season, which means Harris and Fenwick carry more. At the end of the season, he put the ball on the ground again. He is the most passionate player on the Gamecox roster and showed some explosions at the time.

Sophomore Kevin Harris – Belco has been running near Gamecox for a while now but Harris fits the bill. He finished the regular season as SEC Rushing Champion with 1,138 yards and finished second in the SEC with 15 total touchdowns. Harris, who averaged 18.5 per game, also caught the ball well off the backfield and had 21 receptions and touchdowns for 159 yards. With a healthy Harris, Gamecox definitely looks good for the back position.

Freshman Rashad Amos – After a late addition to the 2020 recruitment class, Amos couldn’t catch the headlines that got back to participating in the class. While he has only finished in three games this season, he had 18 carry for 99 total yards. Like Fenwick, it averages 5.5 yards per carry. He got a chance to get his feet wet

Freshman Marshall Lloyd – There was a time when it seemed that Lloyd would be the start of South Carolina. Even in the short time on campus, he was turning his head and living on his tidal hype at least as much as possible before setting foot on the playground. But Lloyd ripped his ACL in the middle of AC Gust and was forced to watch it from the sidelines during the 2020 season. 247 Sports ranked him fifth in the country and ranked 43rd overall.

Freshman Caleb McDowell – Short in size but far from speed short, McDowell runs that kind of bipartisan back room in South Carolina. In nine regular season games for Lee County High School (Leisburg, Ga.), McDowell ran 105 times for 800 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes for 140 yards and two scores. McDowell advanced to the state championship game with 16 touchdowns, winning four playoffs in Lee County, including four in the semifinals against Westlake. Gamecocks are definitely missing out on Fanwick, but the back room seems to be on a steady pace, especially when compared to the rest of the position groups entering the 2021 season.
