DORCHESTER COUNTY, Maryland (WJZ) – Dorchester County has recently seen an increase in its COVID-19 positivity rate, which officials said could be related to local crab collection houses.
Dorchester County’s positivity rate is 7.27 percent. The increase is potentially related to local crab collection houses, where widespread testing is underway, authorities said.

Maryland recorded more than 900 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, bringing the state total to nearly 82,000, data from the Maryland Department of Health show.
CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE:
As of Friday, 81,766 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the state, 930 more than Thursday.
A dozen new deaths have also been reported, bringing the state total to 3,293. Hospitalizations, however, remain almost flat.
More than a million Marylanders – 1,040,442 – have been tested for COVID-19.
