Live Updates: U.S. More than 1.3M new coronavirus cases have been reported in the last week


U.S. New coronavirus cases and deaths were reported last week, amid growing concern among medical experts about the growing virus in the winter months.

There were 1.37 million new coronavirus cases in the US last week, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. A record 227,885 new daily cases were reported on Friday.

The University of Washington’s School of Medicine in Washington has recently risen to prominence as the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), with the expected vaccine rollout expected to reach the U.S. by April 1. The virus has killed at least 539,000 people.

“Vaccination on a large scale in 2021 means we have a path to a normal life, but there are still a few rough months left,” said IHM Director Dr. Said Christopher Murray. “We should be vigilant to protect ourselves at least in the month of April, when, according to our estimates, the effect of vaccines will begin.”
