Moderna became the latest company to announce that it would apply for authorization of emergency use of its coronavirus vaccine candidate.
In a statement on plans to file for the EU, the company said it expects to have 20 million doses by the end of 2020 and 1 billion doses globally by 2021. The shot, which is a two-dose pocket, will be ready to ship in a week, according to the company.
Pfizer has already applied to the EU and the FDA plans to make a decision in early December. AstraZeneca has also indicated that it is preparing to file for its own EUA.
