BROOK PARK, Ohio (AP) – Two employees were fired after an Ohio couple who bought a pizza in Little Caesars discovered they had placed pepperonis to form a backward swastika.
Misty and Jason Laska made the discovery when they opened the box they had bought at the Smith Road store.
Misty Laska posted a photo on Twitter. “I am really disappointed. This is really sad and disturbing and not funny at all! “, Wrote.
The Laskas said they tried to call the store, but were unable to reach anyone.
“We are trying to solve the hatred, and even if this was just an inside joke for the employees, just stop. Stop the symbolism and let it go, ”Jason Laska told WOIO-TV.
Little Caesar Enterprises released a statement to the station.
“We have zero tolerance for racism and discrimination in any form, and these franchise employees were immediately fired. We are deeply disappointed that this has happened, as this conduct is completely against our values, ”the company said.
