Žemaitaitis has joined the queue to vote: I hope this is the turning point

“I look forward to the change and the closure of very active people who do not fear the coronavirus. And, apparently, this is the crucial point that the conflicts between the two political parties within four years will be resolved with this vote. And it will show who will lead the government for the next four years, who will be the leaders of the ruling majority and whether we will have peace in Lithuania. Will the two political parties split for another four years? ”R. Žemaitaitis said about the conflicting political forces on Tuesday.

The leader of “Freedom and Justice” said he expects about 10 seats in the Seimas after the elections.

“I would be very happy if we had 5.5 percent, it would be a great victory. If, according to list 6, there are still 4-5 uninominal members, 10 members of the Seimas would be a great victory for this party ”, said the parliamentarian about the desired electoral results.

R. Žemaitaitis said he expected the ruling center-right coalition.

“I really want changes, changes, I think of the center-right coalition,” R. Žemaitaitis told reporters.

He said he did not rule out the possibility of working in the center-left coalition.

“You could see if certain provisions that prevail today are not implemented, the so-called social policy, which is very flawed. The money is not spent on creating jobs for people, but rather on creating unemployment. This is also demonstrated in the last distribution of benefits, when we now have 14 percent of the 7.5 percent unemployed. (…) You could talk about giving up these things. It would also be possible to talk if the Minister of Health were someone else ” said R. Žemaitaitis to the political wishes.

The politician said that the electoral campaign is scarce.

“We have a framework such that neither the members of the commission, nor the observers, nor the candidates themselves can participate anywhere. If we participate, we have one minute to answer the question, 30 seconds to answer. There is a lack of debate that has taken place in the past. (…) (Campaign, aut. P.) It is very vague, gloomy, we talk more about monologues ”, said the politician.

And he stressed that a much sharper debate would be needed because the format that is being done now is not beneficial to the voter.

Delphi Remember that early voting will take place before Thursday. The first round of the Seimas elections is on October 11.
