Employees of commercial companies (cashiers, corridors, security guards, food industry workers, bus drivers, employees of educational institutions, police, firefighters and the elderly who have not yet been vaccinated) were invited to the mass vaccination scheduled for Saturday at the Širvintos Cultural Center.
This would have been the second campaign of its kind. According to Ž.Pinskuvienė, about 300 people from Širvintos were vaccinated during the first time.
But on Thursday it was decided that there would be no actions.
“There will not be a second campaign of this type, since we have just canceled it”, 15 minutes the Širvintos district mayor said on Thursday.
According to her, the list of priority vaccination groups in effect on Wednesday indicated that people who perform particularly important functions can be vaccinated.
“We invited people to the list,” he said.
Ž.Pinskuvienė said that a new order was received from A.Dulkis on Thursday morning, in which priorities were changed.
“In Lithuania, the members of the Seimas are much more important, they are at the top. And we cannot vaccinate the cashiers, the vendors. That is why we canceled the campaign,” he did not hide his indignation.
According to Ž.Pinskuvienė, established vaccination priorities are strictly observed in the district.
“All people with a wide range of more serious diseases are on call; they don’t want to be vaccinated with AstraZeneca, they want Pfizer or Moderna vaccines,” he said.

However, he says the district receives about 30 doses of Pfizer a week, and the vaccine, which it rarely wants, is piling up.
Ž.Pinskuvienė stated that when he saw the Minister’s new order, which defines vaccination priorities, he was shocked.
“People call … Bus drivers are in contact with people all day, people are changing, tellers are in contact with thousands of people,” he said.
Now we will store 350 doses in the refrigerator.
Ž.Pinskuvienė said that in Širvintos, those who express that wish through their GP will now be vaccinated.
“We did so well, we kept priorities with that line, we didn’t go anywhere. And now … Perhaps jealousy took hold and prohibited, because here we will soon vaccinate many people. Most importantly, people come voluntarily to get vaccinated with AstraZeneca. Now we will keep 350 doses in the refrigerator, ”he said.
Advisor to A. Dulkis: We welcome initiatives, but we must follow order.
Advisor to the Minister of Health A.Šuksta 15 minutes he said tellers “landed on the priority list before the mass vaccination.”
“But as you can see in the new order, many priorities have simply shifted downward due to the inclusion of educators, twelfth graders, and others who are particularly interested in getting vaccinated right now, probably for reasons that are absolutely understandable to the public. ” “she said.

According to A. Šuksta, the ministry takes such a position that all initiatives are welcome, but it is important to comply with applicable legislation.
It was still planned to allow cashiers to vaccinate on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the Minister of Health A. Dulkys to the members of the Government presented the planned changes to the list of priority groups.
The Minister stated that he intends to include in this group those employees who are currently in the priority group of people who perform vital state functions, who work in retail companies who are in contact with customers: cashiers, hall employees, security guards.

In addition, employees who work in food handling entities that are directly involved in food production; other vital functions of the State and of society, except general employees, performers who are in contact with other people, when the functions cannot be performed remotely.
