Yazaki plans to lay off 148 workers

Automotive wire harness manufacturer Yazaki Wiring Technologies Lietuva September 22 informed the Employment Service that it plans to lay off 148 workers.

According to Rekvizitai.lt, the company currently has 862 employees.

VŽ wrote that in April the company also notified the Employment Service of the 89 planned layoffs.

Yazaki is one of the largest investors and manufacturers of automotive components in Lithuania. The company manufactures wiring systems for Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) cars and Volvo and Renault trucks. All products are exported to Sweden, France and Germany.

Klaipeda Yazaki Wiring Technologies Lithuania was established in 1993 and is owned by the German company Yazaki Wiring Technologies, which is part of the Japanese Yazaki Corporation.
