There were rumors in the public sphere that S. Skvernelis should become the leader of the opposition after discovering a consensus with other factions of the opposition. “Perhaps we will see a division of roles: S. Skvernelis will be the leader of the opposition and R. Karbauskis will be the head of the shadow government. Such a version is really possible,” assured Š. Liekis.

L. Bielinis critically evaluated such a possibility.

S. Liekis stressed that the shadow cabinet and its importance should not be overstated. He said that politicians are now beginning to think about the next elections and that is much more important than a shadow cabinet.

“It all depends on the strategy: what strategy LVŽS is coming up with. The logic may be based on the fact that S. Skvernelis is not worth exploiting now, because it will be very necessary and important in a couple of years, when they get closer the next elections to the Seimas.
