Vaida revealed that since the beginning of her pregnancy, she had planned to return to the big sport: “I always knew I would definitely return. As a result, I ran 37 weeks pregnant, then rode my bike and walked a lot in the last week. “

Vaida Žūsinaitė-Nekriošienė’s husband is also an Olympic kayaker named Ričardas Nekriošius.
Vaida said she cared for the newborn baby at home for the first few weeks after her pregnancy and then began sharing responsibilities with her husband, Richard.
“When a baby is born, life changes 100 percent. Personal needs no longer come back in the first place, they become responsible for the little person. As I was always active, it was extremely difficult to close down at home and get used to the new rhythm of life for the first few weeks. But now things are different, the days have become busy, there is no time to breathe. We get up early, in the morning the first training is organized by Mr. Richard, and in the meantime Gabija and I go out. When Richard comes back, I run away.

It is true that it was not easy to run in the summer from 13 to 14 hours a day, but you get used to everything. When I return, Ričardas goes to the second training session, and in the evening when he returns, I go to work, train people and come home only around 9 pm, ”said V.Žūsinaitė-Nekriošienė on a very busy schedule.
Olympics and world championships are planned, but family is a priority
The broker emphasized that when he really wants, it is possible to coordinate everything, but sometimes it is very difficult to do it, and the help of relatives is also needed. “The hardest part is that I can never precisely plan my training time because it depends on when Richard returns. When the man went to the training grounds, then we went to Alytus with my parents with Gabija. I am very happy that Gabija agrees perfectly with my parents, they help me a lot! Vaida said.

Vaidai Žūsinaitė-Nekriošienė manages not only to play sports. She is back to her athletic best. She proved it this year by becoming the Lithuanian champion over 3 different distances and reaching up to 2 personal records.
“Now I am running the 5000m half marathon. I became the Lithuanian champion of the 5,000m, 10,000m and half marathon. I set personal records in the 10,000m and half marathon distances. And I will continue to play sports as long as there is will and opportunity. Plans to the Olympic Games and hopefully not even one. Also world championships in Europe. However, these are not the main goals of life, because in the first place now there will always be a family, “said the Olympian.

Started exercising 3 weeks after cesarean section and first run – after half a year
Another athlete and Olympian, 27-year-old triathlete Dovilė Kilty, who is raising her 4-year-old son in the UK, has also returned to sports just three weeks after giving birth.
“I got back to sports in three weeks. Now looking back, I realize it was too early, even the seams hadn’t healed after the cesarean. I probably wouldn’t now, it was dangerous,” Dovilė opened.
Kilty participated in the first race in Florida, six months after giving birth. “I participated in the world championship in the same year, so I met the highest expectations after the baby was born in the first year,” said the athlete.
Dovilė revealed that she always knew that after giving birth she would return to the big sports without expecting anything, so during her pregnancy she allowed herself to rest a bit from sports and did not train. But almost immediately after giving birth, she returned to work. “It was very difficult to get used to the new routine. After all, you no longer give preference to yourself, but to the child. Athletes must be selfish, take care of themselves and being a mother can no longer be selfish, ”said D. Kilty.

Life between Britain and Siauliai, a new routine and higher goals
“I basically live in Great Britain, but I also spend a lot of time in Lithuania and Šiauliai. This is where I live, I would say 50/50. Now my son goes to preparatory class. In England, children start going to school from He is 4 years old, so he spends the day at school and, at that time, in training, ”Dovilė shared the routine of daily life.
Dovilė Kilty’s husband is also an athlete, the British Richard Kilty. It is the husband’s family that helps Deauville if they are in the UK with the husband at the time. “If we are in the UK, the husband’s parents take care of the child during trips to competitions or camps. If I already go to a longer camp or championship, the child stays with my parents in Šiauliai. This is their only grandson, so they are very happy and always look forward to it, ”said D. Kilty.
Deauville Kilty’s plans and aspirations remain the highest: the European and World Championships await her in winter and the Tokyo Olympics in the summer of 2021.
