When they return from emigration, they bake Lithuanian branches: let someone see fit.

Laura and Vaidas Virkščiai are in Pakruojis, very close to the Pakruojis mansion.

The two begin to tell their story due to the fact that it has been three years since they returned from emigration.

“We were in England, we left there in 2003, we lived there for a total of 16 years.

We went to earn money, but the plan was to be there for two months, but that time passed quickly, so we stayed, ”says Vaidas.

The couple say they initially worked the simpler jobs, then learned the language better, resulting in better jobs and higher wages.

The last job Vaid did, he says, was in construction. The man was determined to finish. As we speak, he says that setting up this training room is the truest work of his hands.

“It has already been said that you will not be a prophet in a foreign land.

There was a time when we were going home now or we were not going at all. That’s how we came back ”, says Vaidas and assures that it was not difficult for him to leave England and return to his homeland.

“It just came to our attention then.” Our friends are still there, “he says.

The man says he helped his father manage agriculture before he left, and has now returned to his old position when he returns.

“Now I’m helping him again,” he says.

The family had already planned to return to Lithuania, so in 2014 they started the construction of their house, which we visited.

“It just came to our attention then. There had to be a pool where we sat. Fantasy is always great, but when you start to tell how to keep everything, it’s different, ”laughs Vaidas.

The couple say the branch business is more made up for Laura to do.

“There is no such thing in pakruojis that someone can fry old homemade forks, which contain butter, sour cream, etc., but without any bad additives, like E supplements,” says Laura herself.

On November 29 he turned exactly two years since the family was dedicated to this business.

When asked about the recipe, they both said that they obtained it very old and that it has not been revealed.

“It just came to our knowledge then. It has been 100% worth it,” says Laura.

Here the branches can not only be bought, but also come to see how they are baked.

“We learned how to bake them from scratch by learning a lot, and now we sell them on Fridays at the Pakruojis market, and there are a lot of people who place orders over the phone,” he says.

Still, Vaid maintains that the bakery branch, although the family has employed several people, is not their main source of livelihood.

“We have hired two girls, Laura also works, we pay the salary, we pay the electricity, she stays a bit and I continue to cultivate,” the man says bluntly.

“It’s more of an activity for me,” he adds, explaining that they bake dozens of branches a week and that the holiday periods, he says, are always full.

Vaid himself assures that he never regretted having left England.

“And what a pity?

To this day, I can earn as much as here. Here you can earn money, you just need to have your head and the desire to do it, and moan that there is no work … let those who are comfortable complain. There are always solutions, ”he says.
