“We continue with the largest and record renovation of public transport in Vilnius, constantly looking for ecological solutions. In recent years, the city’s public transport system has been upgraded by 5 electric Karsan electric buses, the first of 50 gas three-axis MAN buses will soon hit the streets of the city, and today we are presenting another green solution for city residents: Yutong U12 electric buses. We are looking for green solutions for the city’s infrastructure together with the help of the Vilnius city municipality, therefore we are pleased to test the latest and most reliable means of transport, ”said Rimantas Markauskas, director of UAB Vilniaus Viešasis transportas.

The vehicles of Yutong, the world’s largest bus manufacturer, are characterized by their reliability and exceptional comfort not only for passengers but also for drivers. The 12m bus in the extra spacious cabin accommodates a total of 82 passengers, there are 25 seats and 54 standing places, 2 places for the disabled. The eco-friendly vehicle has an ergonomic workplace for drivers, 4 interior and 1 exterior cameras for passenger safety and a high-quality air conditioning system for efficient cab cooling and heating. The low-floor electric bus is extremely durable: the extremely powerful 423 kWh battery on the bus, according to the manufacturer, must travel up to 400 km on a single charge. When testing this bus, special attention will be paid to the path traveled by the charged battery to the geographical position of Vilnius and the charging time of the vehicle. The Yutong U12 electric bus is equipped with a charging station for testing.
City residents will be able to test the green bus starting June 11, on bus route 10. This green vehicle will travel at least 250 km every day.
