“I was surprised when I checked my electronic health data this morning and found a test protocol where I supposedly took a PCR sample a few days ago and found a coronavirus, a South African strain. Although I did not do any PCR test last week, “wrote the reader.

According to the woman, she had to spend several hours trying to call various institutions that could provide her with information: NVSC, e-health, family doctor. Unfortunately, no one could explain anything.

It’s also interesting that Giedrė’s daughter’s e-health system also had the same track record: a strain of South African coronavirus was allegedly found on her.

“Finally, I was instructed to explain to the laboratory where the study result came from. There, a pleasant woman explained that under the new SAM order, all positive samples are retested after two weeks to determine what type of virus strain. And that this protocol does not mean that we are currently ill or that we have to return to self-isolation. I did not know this information, but, curiously, why does the NVSC not know it? E. Health? Health institutions?

I suggest that you inform the public about the new order from the Minister of Health that all COVID-19 positive samples be retested after two weeks, ”wrote Giedrė A.

According to SAM, these studies are in fact being carried out

We asked the Health Department if it is true that the samples are currently being retested for potential new strains of coronavirus.

According to SAM, laboratories are tasked with retesting the positive samples from the PCR test to determine the South African strain. This decision was made in order to epidemiologically detect and control dangerous mutations of the coronavirus detected in Lithuania and use the information obtained in decision-making in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to SAM, the results of the repeated tests are also compiled in esveikata.lt, but due to the recent deterioration of the epidemiological situation and the consequent increase in the workload of the laboratories, some laboratories compiled the results of these tests later.

Therefore, it is likely that it was a repeat test of a sample that tested positive at the end of April. More information and data on this particular person and lab would be needed to uncover the actual cause.
