On Saturday, crowds of city residents and guests gathered to see the blooming sakur at Chihunah Sugihara Park near the White Bridge.
Even on a rainy and windy day, people were drawn to admiring the first flowers. Last year, the Vilnius Municipality had fenced off the blooming sakura so that it would not become a mass gathering place during the quarantine. This year, people will be able to visit the flowering trees freely.
Trees flourish in different countries in different parts of the world, depending on natural conditions. The number of sakura growers in Lithuania is increasing every year and these trees can often be seen in the garden.
