According to the minister, the current quarantines are quite different from the spring one and allow not to close life completely.

“First of all, the quarantine now does not cover the entire territory, there are still some municipalities, where the local quarantine is not applicable, where morbidity and other indicators are better than in the rest of Lithuania.

And what is even different from spring is that then, we recall, several stores did not work and services were suspended, planned health services were significantly limited. Currently there are these restrictions. Despite the terrible situation, society has to maintain certain services, especially when it comes to health services, ”he told the radio news program.

Health services will be limited in themselves

When asked if health services will not be restricted now, the minister proposed to be limited in a sense if the infection reaches a medical center.

“If the disease spreads between medical personnel or doctors have contact with the infected person, which is considered high risk, and if it is isolated, then services are not provided for some time or are very limited.

And, as I mentioned, if a medical institution has to expand the number of beds for COVID-19 patients and if they are expanded at the expense of another department or clinic, then no scheduled care will be provided there at that time, ”commented A. Veryga.

Make plans for the educational process

He also made sure that the plans for work in schools – initially students with a week off and another week in distance education.

However, the minister hinted that new models of how older students might learn are already being considered.

“It is promised to continue talking to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports if the situation continues to deteriorate due to students in basic and secondary education.” It would be desirable to provide them with at least a minimum of access to networking.

So we talk about those models that are used in some places, for example two weeks of contact learning and two weeks of non-contact learning. Apparently the same use of masks will be considered for elementary and middle school students. But this is for the future, we will talk about it this week, ”said the operations manager.
