“When the quarantine comes into force, the provisions that were in force during the first quarantine – from 60 to 100 percent. The supplement can be paid immediately. It is not necessary to look for a special solution there,” the minister told reporters in a press conference on Monday.
Starting Wednesday, the quarantine will be introduced in the three main cities where support hospitals operate. Due to this regime, doctors in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda who treat coronavirus patients will be able to receive higher salaries.
However, the quarantine has not yet been announced in Šiauliai or Panevėžys. When asked if there is no plan to make a separate decision for doctors in these cities, Veryga said that it no longer made sense to do so, as the cities could be quarantined soon as well.
“We are approaching a situation in which practically all the large municipalities are on that list, so probably before we make some additions, they will no longer be relevant, because the quarantine conditions are in force and you can pay from 60 to 100 percent. Annex ”, commented the Minister.
“Today we are talking about a measure: family doctors or other doctors who would go to a nursing home and care where those doctors don’t really work, but they need to go to help patients there,” he added.
As of Wednesday, the quarantine will be introduced in a total of eight more municipalities: the districts of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šilalė, Širvintos, Telšiai, Trakai and Vilnius.
People who live here will be required to wear masks in all public places with rare exceptions. It will not be necessary to wear masks outside of residential areas when there are no other persons other than family members within a radius of 20 meters.
Municipalities in the quarantine zone will have more severe restrictions on the flow of people in commerce, culture, leisure, entertainment, and sports facilities; They must guarantee an area of at least ten square meters per visitor.
In addition, according to the minister, the visit of patients in these municipalities will be prohibited, except for critical patients, children under 14 years of age and mothers.
