Although everything will be decided just next week, the minister assured that as the epidemiological situation in the country deteriorates, the quarantine will not be announced at the national level, initially it will try to solve problems in specific municipalities.

When should new requirements be necessary?

Asked by Veryga, what is the morbidity threshold for other instructions to contribute to the use of mandatory face masks in closed public places, names already known are named.

“Today we will discuss it with epidemiologists. Last Friday, they received an order to compile a list of all the actions and measures used in Lithuania. We are also talking about measures for the operation of medical institutions, it is about patient visits. There are also certain requirements for companies, even before working hours are limited. It is proposed to link all these restrictions with two indicators: 16 and 25 cases per 100 thousand. population ”, said the minister.

He added that all these proposals will be presented to the COVID-19 Steering Committee and concrete decisions will be made at the Government meeting.

“The main difference with the previous regulation is that it is proposed to apply those measures more locally, monitor the situation in the municipalities and apply those measures specifically there. If the situation worsens, look a little more locally, do not announce these measures to the whole country at once, starting with the municipalities, ”said A. Veryga.

The health minister said he could not yet name specific measures, but that there should be no news about the future list of requirements.

“That’s what we are talking about, events, public meetings, patient visits, telecommuting and all the other things that have already been applied.” Delphi Veryga said Friday morning.

“These are measures that we already know, right now the question is when to return to those measures, according to what criteria,” said the minister.

A. Veryga said that it would not be possible to leave the house soon without a mask.

“It just came to our knowledge then. It is the tool that avoids complex decisions that hinder the operation of the state, the operation of businesses. It is better, perhaps, as a measure that does not bring comfort to people and it is difficult to breathe, but perhaps it is better than experiencing some economic recession and being out of work, “he said.

Constantly deteriorating Polish indicator

Every Friday, the Ministry of Health updates the list of countries from which the compatriots who arrive need 14 days of self-isolation.

There is no great intrigue, according to the minister, Poland should appear on this list today.

“It just came to our notice then. I just want to remind you that every Friday our epidemiologists coordinate that list with colleagues from Latvia and Estonia, and will continue to do so today. As soon as it is agreed, we will announce it, but a big miracle will probably not happen: the indicator is constantly deteriorating in Poland, “he said.

“Obviously, what is inevitable will happen,” Veryga said of the situation in Poland.

The minister said he had not heard information that Poland itself was considering closing the country’s borders. He said that conditions would be created for Lithuanians working in Poland and Poles working in Lithuania.

“But to go to the store, to travel or to rest, it seems that this road is simply going to close,” said the politician.

Population survey – with many questionnaires

The researchers promise that residents will begin receiving invitations to the population survey starting next week. 13.5 thousand residents will receive invitations to perform a coronavirus test. According to A. Veryga, it is not yet clear what people who will test positive for this test will have to do.

“The people who will do that research will definitely explain it to me, I am not a researcher, I cannot give more details. It is likely that you will undergo not only a rapid test but also a PCR test.” Then the situation will be evaluated, ” said the Minister of Health.

Veryga said the researchers themselves expected to receive about a third of the guests.

“I don’t think there are more important activities for those who are afraid, but for those who don’t have time, they don’t usually come to check it out.” (…) This study is also expected to attend at least a third of the guests. And it will be seen how it will really be. The researchers themselves hope that a large number of people, even if they are invited, will not come for a variety of reasons, “said A. Veryga on Friday morning.

Self Isolation Exceptions Are One Time Only

It became clear Thursday that the rules on self-isolation had been relaxed somewhat after the end of the quarantine. They claim that, if necessary, specialists from the National Center for Public Health (NVSC) can take a person in self-isolation to funerals, weddings and other family events.

Veryga said that these were isolated cases.

“NVSC could make some evaluations after assessing the situation. Let us understand that such situations, if they were, are especially exceptional, it could not be a mass practice”, – A. Veryga hastened to calm down.

“If a person comes from another country to a funeral, but cannot go because he has to be in self-isolation for 14 days, there were exceptions, several cases, after establishing certain security requirements on how a person should behave,” said the minister. on Friday morning.

Veryga said that isolated people living in a sparsely populated area, if they do not go to places where there are people, they are allowed one kilometer away from their homes.
