Without improving the epidemiological situation, tomorrow the Government will be proposed to introduce universal quarantine starting at midnight on Saturday, which should last three weeks.

As the Minister emphasized, a quarantine regime would guarantee the payment of supplements to doctors. He also reported that a bed reservation is being prepared.

“I really want to ask everyone to act responsibly, wear protective gear even when there is no such obligation,” Veryga said.

897 cases

The National Center for Public Health (NVSC) reports that 897 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed in Lithuania last day. Of these, 328 are registered in Kaunas, 296 in Vilnius, 99 in Klaipėda, 42 in Marijampolė, 39 in Alytus, 33 in Panevėžys, 30 in Šiauliai. Another 15 cases were recorded in Tauragė, 13 in Telšiai counties and 2 in Utena counties.

Of these, the vast majority were reported when people became infected after contact with people who were confirmed to have coronavirus. Five people died

In hospitals – 613 people

613 people are being treated for COVID-19 in Lithuanian hospitals, 51 of them in resuscitation, the Health Ministry announced on Tuesday.

According to her, 286 patients are treated with oxygen masks and 26 people receive artificial lung ventilation.

Of the almost 16.8 thousand. all 9,000 hospital beds are currently occupied. Resuscitation beds are occupied by more than half: 342 of the existing 632.
