The government has reinstated the obligation to wear protective masks in closed public spaces since Saturday. Covering your face will be necessary on public transportation and in closed areas of commerce and service.
“We should be vigilant both on public transportation and where we meet people we don’t interact with on a daily basis. There really isn’t much logic to protecting ourselves and covering ourselves in the places where we are constantly communicating: people who work in the office or something like that. But when we serve people from abroad, we meet people who are not our everyday neighbors, we really should protect ourselves, “Veryga told reporters on Friday.
According to the minister, it will depend on how responsibly the country’s population wears masks, whether stricter restrictions should be taken in Lithuania.
“It will depend on how we behave if we need to adjust some regulation and impose additional conditions or not. Because in the case of a virus, there are none whose source of infection cannot be identified. That means that it circulates in society, they are not just cases focal points, “said A. Veryga.
There will be no obligation to wear masks everywhere
The Minister ensures that quarantine must be announced due to the obligation to wear masks to appear throughout the country.
“According to legal regulation, quarantine must be announced. Such cases may not necessarily be at the state level, but local quarantines may be announced. In that case, it is possible to do so,” said A. Veryga.
He also hopes that residents remain conscious and don’t wear masks unless they have forgotten them.
“I think really people, even if they come to a place of commerce or services without a mask, if they have not forgotten it. This can happen because during the quarantine it was necessary to have a mask everywhere, so people had to use them and use them. But I think that will solve it. Points of sale are likely to offer to buy or create another mechanism, “said A. Veryga.
