“I certainly would not rule out the possibility of a national quarantine being issued. As the saying goes, there are fewer and fewer municipalities in the yellow or green zone. But the government should decide on that, I really can’t say,” A. Veryga told journalists on Friday.
At the same time, he hinted that new restrictions on where people congregate could wait until next week.
“Once we meet in the COVID-19 Steering Committee on Tuesday to assess the situation, I could not say anything specific, because some of the measures that have been implemented have recently come into effect. But I would definitely not rule out the possibility of additional measures being proposed which, if proposed, will be more related to the places where people gather, which may not be necessary for life, ”said the minister.
In addition, he warned that more cities will remain on the list of red municipalities today, which means that they will also be threatened with quarantine.
“Virus rates continue to deteriorate, we have an exponential increase in the number of infections. Lithuania will undoubtedly be on the list of red countries according to its health indicators and spread of viruses, ”he said.
