According to the minister, the growth of new coronavirus cases and the percentage of positive cases detected were still observed last week. However, he also noticed a good trend: growth was no longer exponential.

“We just realized that the situation was gradually stabilizing. We will see how this week will really be, because the measures are behind the figures ”, explained A. Veryga.

At the same time, the Minister noted that currently all municipalities in Lithuania are turning red according to morbidity, except for one: Neringa. However, Neringa is in the yellow zone only because, according to the minister: “the number of physical cases, not absolute, was small.”

When asked by the minister what is the probability that the quarantine will relax or end in a couple of weeks, A. Veryga replied that so far there is very little hope of that kind.

“So far, there is very little chance and hope that something will be canceled in two weeks. Although we see initial signs that the situation is stabilizing, we still do not speak of any decline. We still had growth last week. <...> Patient flows to treatment facilities are being delayed for at least another week. This means that some of the people who become infected will reach medical centers within a week and the burden on physicians will not decrease. In such a situation, there is no reason to speak of any mitigation ”, said the minister.

Veryga made no secret of his plans to extend the government quarantine.

The incidence of doctors has increased considerably

According to D. Razmuvienė, the latest outbreak is currently occurring in the Skaudvilė Adakava welfare home.

Since the start of the pandemic, 2,282 cases of coronavirus have been reported among doctors, according to the epidemiologist. Currently, 1992 of them are still in treatment.

“Compared to the previous week, the number of doctors was less: 1818.” <...> We see that it started to grow exponentially in October. In November, there were 296 positive cases of coronavirus reported by doctors this weekend.

Most offenses – due to wearing masks

A. Veryga also reviewed violations related to the coronavirus. Now data has been collected from 58 municipalities on which coronavirus-related violations have been reported by police officers.

The highest number of mask use violations was found: 44. Violations were also detected at points of sale: fourteen, at meeting places.

“The percentage is very low of the inspected establishments, population, in general, the majority of the population, establishments or companies comply with the quarantine requirements,” said the minister.

The first mobile team started operating in Raseiniai

A. Veryga also announced that the first mobile team in Raseiniai had started work. These teams must be made up of each municipality.

The team consists of a doctor, a nurse and his assistant. The mobile team will visit people with coronavirus and people at risk (over 60, pregnant women with chronic diseases) and can also go as instructed by doctors.

Veryga also bit political opponents who allegedly obstructed the fight against the coronavirus.

1,152 new cases of coronavirus infection

The NVSC reported that 1,152 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were recorded in Lithuania last day.

357 cases were recorded in Vilnius county, 184 in Kaunas, 173 in Šiauliai, 156 in Klaipėda, 88 in Marijampolė, 59 in Panevėžys, 48 ​​in Telšiai, 40 in Alytus, 31 in Tauragė and 10 in Utena counties . 9 cases have not yet been assigned to any region of the country due to lack of information. The regions to which to assign these cases will be determined after the epidemiological study.
