Very critical: it is risky not to allow a second dose of the vaccine to be advanced

“I consider it a completely unfounded position. Moreover, in my opinion, it is even risky in a sense: postponed until the deadline, until the last days. There may be some objective things that a person will not be able to get vaccinated afterwards,” said A. Veryga to reporters at the Seimas on Thursday.

According to him, many cases are already known in which a person could not reach the second dose of Vaxzevria, which is administered 12 weeks after the first, due to prescribed surgery or other reasons.

“It is stubbornly not allowed to change, the maximum time limit is observed. This can lead to a general risk and even go beyond those limits, not getting vaccinated on time, which means violating the instructions in clinical trials. In general, The bubble, how many people want to be vaccinated, has somehow calmed down, it will dissipate quickly, ”said the former minister.

The SAM, he said, and in general, has made many mistakes when organizing the vaccination process.

“I don’t see any logic or meaning in this, and it is necessary for graduates to do so,” added A. Veryga.

The biggest discussion about the possibility of advancing the dose of the Vaxzevria vaccine came after representatives of educational institutions began to publicly ask SAM to allow it to be done so that graduates would not run the risk of passing the maturity exams due to the self-isolation.

SAM, for his part, says that this possibility is available for good reason, but school representatives say it is difficult to advance the dose of Vaxzevria to high school graduates.

As Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys said at a press conference on Wednesday, it is not planned to allow everyone to shorten the deadline for the second vaccine.
