Vaccines get closer to people: praise Janssen, vaccination record, tails and foreigners

To vaccinate as many Lithuanians as possible and activate vaccination against the coronavirus, the NCC will participate in this process from June 1.

To this end, a mobile team of NKC representatives and health professionals began their trip to Lithuania on June 1, inviting them to get vaccinated in tents without prior registration.

First stop – Zapyškis town in Kaunas district, where 338 people were vaccinated in less than 5 hours on Tuesday.

Anšlag was also in Lentvaris, where residents were vaccinated on Friday.

Here, 300 people waited in line in front of vaccines before the campaign began..

Interview with the director of NKC about this vaccination campaign Daumantu Gutauskas.

Various conditions

– What criteria Did the NCC choose the settlements where the temporary vaccination centers will be located for live vaccination?

– Due to the current vaccination inequality in the country, the selection of areas where vaccination rates are problematic.

The places that NKC staff will visit have been agreed with the Government Chancellery and the Ministry of Health (SAM).

First of all, I would like to point out that this trip through the cities is mainly related to the elderly or people with motor disabilities.

But people of all ages really come. After apologizing to those who are waiting, we call priority groups first and then vaccinate others in line.

We make sure that everyone who arrives is vaccinated.

Vaccines will be enough for everyone. Here at Lentvaris, we have thousands of them. There will be more if necessary.

Therefore, there are no problems with the supply of vaccines. If necessary, SAM is committed to supplying them the same day.

But we have another problem. The priority activity of the NCC is blood donation, not vaccination.

Due to the lack of medical professionals, we are unable to transfer all of our resources to vaccination. By focusing on this, we are undoubtedly mobilizing and expecting good results.

– People who speak not only Lithuanian but also other languages are waiting in line. Do you also vaccinate foreigners? Also, what conditions must those who want to receive the vaccine meet?

– There are not many conditions, one of them is age.

The Janssen vaccine, which only requires one dose, has a downside: It can only be given to people over 18 years of age. There are no more restrictions.

A person only needs to have an identity document.

Foreigners with work and residence permits in Lithuania and students who have gone through exchange programs can also be vaccinated.

So, we are waiting for everyone who wants.

Can work all summer

– Why the Janssen vaccine?

– The government office chose this vaccine because it is very convenient both for our mobile trips and for the people who come to get vaccinated.

We don’t have the resources to go back to one place multiple times. Also, coming and receiving a vaccination is very convenient, especially for those who do not have the opportunity to register in advance.

Vaccination in Lentvaris

Vaccination in Lentvaris

We work only in live queue. Consequently, there is no record.

I will only repeat that we prioritize vaccination for people with mobility problems and the elderly.

– How do people who come here value the Janssen vaccine?

– People are very positive about this vaccine. It is a Belgian product of the American parent company Johnson & Johnson.

– How many are waiting locally and how many come from other places?

– We noticed that there is a minority of locals, that is, perhaps around a fifth.

Since Lentvaris is close to the capital, we were concerned that a large number of Vilnius residents might gather, but this did not happen.

Many people came from other districts as well.

It is interesting that even people from Klaipeda attended the vaccination that took place yesterday in Zapyškis, Kaunas district.

– Have many people decided to get vaccinated who only saw the mobile vaccination center at the last moment, even though they had not had the opportunity to do so before?

– We don’t see mass, but yes, those kinds of people show up.

I had to see how people who have already been vaccinated call their loved ones and invite them to come.

He recommends trust, because he sees that the vaccination process is carried out by an organization that is trustworthy and familiar to them: NKC.

– Where else will the mobile vaccination points go? How long are you going to do this?

– In the near future, that is, on Tuesday, we will travel to Molėtai. We will also take 1,000 vaccines there.

We don’t have an exact schedule yet. Now we have planned trips to 20 municipalities. His list is constantly updated.

In addition, the government is actively responding to the situation in the country, changes are constantly taking place.

All the most relevant information about where we will go can be found online: kraujodonoryste.lt.

As long as we have the strength and the human resources, we will work as much as we can and as much as we need to. I think we will need it all summer.

We have implemented a faster personal service process.

Because we work in a one-stop shop, we can complete all the paperwork much faster.

We even have a freelance medical professional who fills the vaccine into the syringes. This is no longer done by the person who is vaccinated.

SAM says we have achieved a record vaccination rate.
