Currently, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has approved an action plan for the reorganization of the Highway Directorate, according to which by September 1. V. Andrejev says he does not know the reasons why Minister J. Narkevičius made the decision to remove him and promises to appeal the dismissal to court.
V. Andrejev stated that he had learned about the decision to fire him from the media by participating in the event of the presentation of the new brand of Lithuanian Railways.
“I understand from the press release that the decision has been made, I have to know the reasons for the decision. It is not possible to remove an official from office without a reason, the law does not provide for it,” V. Andrejev told BNS.
“I have not committed any irregularity known to me and if the decision (on the dismissal – BNS) is due to any alleged irregularity, I will certainly complain,” he added.
V. Andrejev recently criticized the Minister of Transport and Communications, Jaroslav Narkevičius, for allegedly inadequate funds for asphalting gravel roads and road repairs.
Remigijus Lipkevičius, Director of the Administration Department of this institution, will temporarily assume the position of Director of Highway Administration from Friday.
