Only one Lithuanian team remained in the last world trios tournament in Jeddah after day one.
At the decisive meeting of Group D at Utena Juventus-Uniclub Casino 21:14 defeated Šakiai’s “Swan” and left it for the next stage with two losses.
The Amsterdam team, which took second place in Group B, will be awaiting the Uteniškės quarter-finals.
Ignas Vaitkus, who played more productively, scored 10 points, Vytautas Šulskis – 6, Žygimantas Skučas – 3, Gintautas Matulis – 2.
Aurelijus Pukelis scored the most points in the Šakiai team, with 9 points on his account. Šarūnas Vingelis added 4 points, Gabrielius Čelka – 1.
Utena Juventus-Uniclub Casino in the first match of group D 21:16 after beating NY Harlem, in the second game, the American team during extra time 21:19 killed Šakiai’s “Swan”.
At the beginning of extra time, Aurelijus Pukelis scored and “Gulbelė” had the initiative in his hands – 19:18.
