The US administration is considering restricting the country’s consumer access to China’s TikTok social media program, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said.

In an interview with Fox News, he expressed concern that the Chinese government is using the program to track companies and spread their propaganda.
We took the matter very seriously, Pompeo said, and the host noted that India was already banning the show, and Australia was also considering doing so.
According to him, work on this topic has been ongoing for a long time and has already been done after evaluating the problems of using Huawei technology in infrastructure, announcing that the classification of the Chinese telecommunications company ZTE represents a threat to American national security.
As far as the Chinese program is concerned, I can assure you that the United States will make the right decision, Pompeo said, adding that he did not want to reveal the details and that it could draw attention to President Donald Trump’s message.
He warned Americans to remain vigilant using the TikTok program if they do not want their personal information to fall into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party.
In late June, the United States imposed visa restrictions on Chinese Communist Party officials responsible for Hong Kong’s new security law, which undermined Hong Kong’s autonomy, rights and commercial freedoms.
In early July, the Indian government is said to have ordered the country to block 59 Chinese apps and platforms, including TikTok. Officially, India appears to have echoed the United States’ position, with suspected Chinese 5G equipment and software manufacturers posing a threat to the country’s national security. However, this is believed to have been Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response to the recent Chinese ambush, during which 20 Indian soldiers fought.
TikTok brakes in Hong Kong
TikTok has announced that recent developments are hampering the work of the program in Hong Kong.
Tok ingsn TikTok, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, engages online militia Facebook, Google and Twitter in efforts by the Hong Kong police and government to provide information to consumers about building security in Hong Kong.

TikTok has repeatedly denied providing consumer data to the Chinese government, and has stated categorically that it does not intend to start satisfying such demand.
The company hopes to suspend the program in Hong Kong in a few days.
Last week, the European Union joined the Code of Practice against Misinformation, a technological means of persuading Europe not to adopt an online law against harmful content.
