Upon arriving at the clinic, a Panevėžys resident could not believe the waiting order: “Stay behind the door with a screaming child.”

“Thus, the city’s polyclinic, the Nemunas clinic, could not have been a greater bard. First, have such a coupon at 7:30 a.m. M., In the best case scenario, the doctor will arrive after 8:00 a.m. M. … And I’m not talking about the culture of the reception staff anymore. When you come to ask, you will hear: “Squeeze the ticket” and the box will close in front of your nose.

After squeezing the ticket, you sit for almost half an hour and wait for someone to offer you an invitation, there are 4 receptionists, no one, no one in the box! Only the nurses buzz around him … But they don’t have time yet! I tried to call n times without sitting down and no receptionist offered to pick up the phone!

Next… You cannot and will not receive paid surveys after receiving them! Because you and your sick little boy (2 years old) have just been kicked out of the “Practical Medicine” lab to wait outside the door … Sit down, wait, the adults run through the door and everything is fine here. ! They are registered, they do tests … and nobody expels them! And you are left behind the door with a sick screaming child and you wait until you know when to “invite” you (according to the expelled employee)!

Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, maybe it is time to worry about the healthcare sector? “, Resents women in the social space.

Maximum traffic when registering by phone

Commenting on the situation, the Panevėžys City Clinic administration ensures that patients can register both online and upon arrival at the unit.

“Once the quarantine is canceled at the Panevėžys Municipal Polyclinic, patients have the opportunity to register upon arrival at the polyclinic reception with primary health care specialists: family doctors, pediatricians, surgeons, dentists and obstetrician-gynecologists. In the queue management waiting area at the reception, select the desired service and receive the call number. Patients are invited to the reception box in accordance with all security measures. It is also possible to register with a doctor through the website e-pacientas.lt ”, explains the administration of the polyclinic.

According to them, the largest flow of patient registration falls on the telephone registry. After registering with a doctor, the visit must wait about three weeks and patients are admitted for necessary assistance the same day.

“For primary care, a visit to your family doctors is possible after three weeks. For doctors with large settings, the registration period is up to four weeks. Patients are registered for the necessary assistance the same day and go to your GP or the doctor on call, ”says the administration of the Panevėžys Municipal Polyclinic.

The outpatient clinic provides 15 minutes for each patient visit. The same amount of time is spent on remote consultations.

Lithuanian polyclinics lack patients: patients fear contracting Covid-19

The laboratory also accepts patients on an urgent basis.

Unlike the Panevėžys City Polyclinic, the Panevėžys Laboratory of Practical Medicine accepts clients only after pre-registering online and ensuring that arriving patients do not have upper respiratory symptoms.

In cooperation with the Panevėžys Municipal Polyclinic, the laboratory also accepts patients from the polyclinic who need urgent designated examinations during doctor consultations.

“These patients are admitted without prior registration, they have a separate laboratory and staff for their admission,” says Alina Stražnickienė, deputy director of Laboratorio Laborina Practica.

According to A. Stražnickienė, the waiting procedure in the laboratory is guaranteed by the laws currently in force.

“Due to the small size of the laboratory waiting room, according to current legislation, it can accommodate a maximum of three patients at the same time. If more patients arrive at the same time, then the laboratory staff asks to wait at the entrance of the laboratory room, that is, in the hallway of the polyclinic, which has waiting chairs. Of course, we ask waiting patients to keep a safe distance of 2 meters, and information about safe waiting is also displayed at the entrance door of the laboratory “, explains A. Stražnickienė in the admission procedure in the laboratory of “Practical medicine”.

Young children, along with their accompanying parents, are admitted to the laboratory in the same order: by registering in advance or by designating a referral from the polyclinic for urgent examinations, then they are admitted in a separate queue.

As population morbidity increases, the Laboratory of Practical Medicine strives to ensure proper management of patient flows and waiting.

“We accept all pre-registered patients who need urgent lab work. Of course, there are cases where more unregistered patients arrive at the same time or the blood draw procedure takes time due to the physiological conditions of the patient, so that sometimes the wait can be delayed. Patients usually wait between 5 and 10 minutes with us, in exceptional cases the wait can last up to 20 minutes, “says Alina Stražnickienė, deputy director of the Laboratory of Practical Medicine for quality work.

According to her, patients who perform laboratory tests in all departments of Practical Medicine can always contact the administration and file complaints. “We always respond, examine and respond to patients. We solve problems and situations and can provide them with better laboratory services, ”says A. Stražnickienė.
