The Lithuanian information technology company Tesonet was founded in 2008 by Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas. Ms Okmanė said that that year, entrepreneurs worked on a puzzle game created for gaming giant EA Games.
“They perfected the project and when they took the ready product for EA Games, they were told that the market was now overcrowded and that two years of work was no longer necessary,” he recalled.
Then the team decided to develop the ideas further and realized in 2010 that there was no suitable cyber security solution. The team developed products one after another, but only the 35th product was immediately offered to foreign markets and it became the success story of the company.
“The cybersecurity product was the one that put the company in the current situation”, 15 minutes assured M. Okmanė.

“We no longer call ourselves a cybersecurity company, we code more as an accelerator. All products, both cybersecurity and non-cyber, are destined abroad. We do not even mention those names in Lithuania. We sell products in more than 80 countries around the world. world. We develop products and are connected to other projects, “explained M. Okmanė.
He doesn’t want to be called a “unicorn”
The main markets of the company are Australia, Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France and Asian countries.
“We achieved everything without external investment, the growth was natural, by itself,” he said.
According to experts, Tesonet could be called an unofficial Lithuanian “unicorn”. Unicorns are tech startups founded in 2000 and later, with a market value of over a billion dollars. dollars However, as this company does not attract investors, its value is not officially announced.
However, M. Okmanė states that the company does not pursue this title.
“We don’t want to be called that because the name ‘unicorn’ is not our goal. We don’t need to be known through the ‘unicorn’, we want to know ourselves in Lithuania as a good employer creating global products,” he said.
Last year, it was said in the media that the company intends to go public, but according to M. Okman yet, there are no approved plans yet.
“There are all kinds of thoughts, plans, but there is no solution. We tend to talk, but so far we are growing well with our own resources, “he said.
