Work at Lifosa
A case of coronavirus has been reported in one of Lifosa’s employees. Company managers learned of this this morning, the information was immediately relayed to the entire team, people who had contact were isolated, and other security measures were taken.
“An employee had a fever, was tested for coronavirus here in Kėdainiai, and received a positive response.
The employee plays at one of the country’s music ensembles, probably having a concert somewhere and he got sick. Now the whole ensemble is in a panic.
We identified 7 people in our workplace who had close contact with the patient, they were sent home. Another employee said he was received with the person, so he was also sent home to be isolated. The information was provided, it reached everyone very quickly, and those on vacation are aware of the case.
I was wondering if the specialists could come to look for us to those who wanted to investigate, but it was impossible. Contact persons should call the short number 1808 and therefore register to take samples, ”said Jonas Dastikas, CEO of Lifosa.
To take action
Additional protective measures were taken at the company when the case became known. The canteen is closed and food is only available to take away. The company’s facilities are also disinfected and employees are instructed to work with protective masks. Not only that, drivers’ access to company facilities is restricted.
“When a coronavirus outbreak appeared in Kaunas, we were also alarmed; after all, many of those trucks also visit us.” During the quarantine, we established a tent where the drivers left all the documents, we did not allow them to enter the area ourselves. The store was constantly disinfected.
So now we are going back to the same procedure, even stricter, “said J. Dastikas.
He came to the municipality
As mentioned above, the sick person plays in one of the country’s music bands. It turned out that an employee of the Kėdainiai District Municipality also plays on that team.
“At the moment, we are awaiting official information from the National Center for Public Health. We know that the person works at Lifosa and plays together. A municipal employee who plays together in a set is sent home and isolated. As far as we know, he did not feel no symptoms of the disease.
1 pm. an emergency committee meeting is called, so there should be more information, ”said Arūnas Kacevičius, director of the municipal administration.
