The social network began the cleanup on Friday, shortly after permanently blocking Trump’s account of the allegations that could incite violence.

“Since Friday, more than 70,000 people have been blocked due to our efforts. Accounts. In most cases, the same person managed multiple accounts,” said the Twitter blog.

“These accounts have contributed to the massive sharing of harmful content related to QAnon and were primarily intended to spread this conspiracy theory across the platform,” the post added.

Proponents of the far-right QAnon movement say Trump is at war with a global liberal sect of Satan-worshiping pedophiles.

Most of the major social media platforms have taken an unprecedented step after Trump supporters invaded the Capitol last Wednesday to prevent Congress from approving Joe Biden’s victory in the US presidential election.
