On 15 October, the Kaunas Regional Court fully satisfied Baltpool’s claim against Lifosa, Bild court representative Milda Bučnytė informed BNS. According to her, the decision can be appealed to the Lithuanian Court of Appeal within one month.

In addition to Lifosa, which does not pay the PSO tax to the state, the Jonava Achema fertilizer plant is also in dispute in court: its debt, according to Baltpool, amounts to 11.6 million LTL. euros.
At the time, another former debtor, the oil refining and transportation company Orlen Lietuva, paid LTL 13.1 million in June. and thus obtained the right to benefit from the relief and recover the funds of the State.
The debt of the three most energy-intensive companies has contracted since 2011; the companies did not pay it because they disputed the tax in court.
All Lithuanian electricity consumers have to pay the so-called PSO tax, which promotes green energy. Last year, the government approved an exemption from this tax for companies: companies that consume a lot of electricity can get 85 percent of the state back. tax paid, but only if the tax is not due to the state.
This year, the state paid LTL 13.75 million for the business that benefited from the PSO tax break. of which € 5.9 million euros went to Orlen Lithuania.
