The Lithuanian Ministry of Health, which has updated the list of countries most affected by coronavirus infection, has added two more countries in the Balkans: Montenegro and Serbia. The updated list will take effect on the 6th.
Northern Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina have already been and continue to be on this list.
Affected are those countries where the incidence of coronavirus infection in the last 14 days is greater than 25 cases per 100,000. population.
Bulgaria and Romania are very close to this border.
Croatia is fast approaching this threshold, with an almost double rate since the beginning of this week, reaching 20.3 points on July 5. If the number of new COVID-19 cases in Croatia next week is similar to this week’s rate, the country could be on the affected list within a week.
The situation regarding the spread of COVID-19 and the overall incidence in the Balkans is better in Greece and Slovenia.
Lithuanian citizens can return or come from any country. However, 14 days of isolation are mandatory for those who come from countries on the affected list.
