The parade was watched by the country’s leader, Kim Jong Una.
According to Western media, he said in a speech that there are no cases of coronavirus infection in North Korea.
“No one in the country has been in contact with the infected,” Kim Jong Un said in the media.
But the North Korean leader wished congratulations to all those who faced the disease.
“I wish good health to all the people around the world who are fighting the diseases caused by this nasty virus,” said Kim Jong Un.
South Korean media, for their part, noted that this time Kim Jong Un made no mention of the United States in his speech.
Analysts said new large ICBMs were demonstrated during a parade on Saturday.
Each was transported on 11-axis self-propelled platforms, and Ankitas Panda of the American Federation of Scientists wrote on Twitter that it was “the world’s largest highway-powered liquid-fuel missile.”
According to South Korean media, this parade, which has yet to take place, was the first such event since 2018.
Normally, North Korea organizes parades during the day to display its weapons, but this time Pyongyang decided to organize the event at night.
Experts believe that the isolated country was likely trying to hide its military equipment from the rest of the world, as well as reduce the risk of the coronavirus spreading, as fewer troops participated in the night parade.
The Korean Workers’ Party was founded on October 10, 1945. This day in the country is a public holiday.
