Three employees of the hospital administration were vaccinated in a row in Kelme: it is claimed that the balance had to be exhausted

Stasys Jokubauskas, director of the Kelmė district municipal administration, confirmed the vaccination of Kelmė hospital employees on tv3.lt.

He admits that hospital staff have not yet been officially vaccinated, but that leaving three doses at the end of the workday was the only sensible option. When asked if it could be called illegal vaccination, S. Jokubauskas replied that it could be possible, but that this situation is also worth looking at from the other side.

“It was no longer possible (to leave the next day – aut. Past). It was already the end of work, we had to find a way out. Either they are completely destroyed or used.

And anyway, as far as I know, no lists were made, outsiders were invited who could have been vaccinated without being included in the priorities ”, explains S. Jokubauskas.

S. Jokubauskas did not want to reveal the names of those vaccinated due to the protection of personal data, but this is no secret and no one will hide the information. It’s also unclear how the lucky three were selected.

Penalties for hospital staff not vaccinated consecutively have not yet been considered.

“Everyone who has registered has been vaccinated, and even the employees of the primary centers are invited. The primary chain was told to use the vaccine instead of discarding it. As Andriukaitis now says, the mind has limits.

All interested doctors were called and vaccinated. And then it did. Now it is punishable … Is it better to throw those three doses into the sewer? Which will probably come out formally. But common sense says it might not make sense to spill it, because the state will vaccinate those people one day. At the moment, I would not like to talk about sanctions, ”says the director of the municipal administration of the Kelmė district.

The management of Kelmė Hospital has not yet been contacted.

Edita Brazienė, director of the Kelmė Hospital, contacted tv3.lt and denied the allegations. According to her, the hospital administration also works with patients, and all hospital doctors and polyclinics in the city, who had to be vaccinated according to the priority list, are already vaccinated, so there is no vaccine left.

According to her, after vaccination, all first-line doctors no longer have the order of priority, so additional vaccines do not violate any rules.

When asked if he could confirm that hospital staff who did not work directly with patients had been vaccinated, E. Brazienė replied that he could neither confirm nor deny it.

“We were told to vaccinate all employees. All of them. Check, all hospitals do this, such as Siauliai Hospital. We have not committed any crime here,” says E. Brazienė.

Dust: “A culture of privilege emerges”

A. Dulkys was glad that the start of vaccination in the country is great, but regretted the irresponsible behavior of the people.

“The race for vaccination is the worst option there could be in this situation today. Priority groups and are designed to vaccinate for the first time those involved in the front lines most at risk of infection. The vaccination process is smooth, the start is great, we have good initial results. It is very unfortunate and unpleasant due to the occurrence of such things that have been made public recently. {…}

Absolute transparency and openness are essential in this area. In the conversation with the President, we also emphasized that the control processes should not interfere with the speed of vaccination, the control processes should not cost more than the final result, and is to save lives, “he told the press this Monday.

According to him, this situation is an opportunity to see his photograph as a person:

“Apparently, that culture of privilege is emerging and all of us, politicians, centers of power, could set an example with their direct behavior and not take advantage of privileges in the health system, as has been the practice for many decades.”

A. Dulkys was also unable to confirm whether people who were vaccinated in this way would receive the required second dose of the vaccine.
