“According to the revised data, 18 violations were recorded over the weekend: seven due to self-isolation violations (violations detected by officers of the State Border Guard Service), 11 due to the non-use of masks recorded by police officers “Revita Janavičiūtė, Chief Specialist of the Communication Division of the Police Department, told BNS.

According to R. Janavičiūtė, one violation was registered by the Zarasai and Mažeikiai police, two violations were registered by Panev violationsžys officials, seven violations were registered in the capital.

Nine cases were registered in supermarkets and two in public transport.

According to the police representative, all people who did not wear masks were fined half the minimum fine: 250 euros, which must be paid within 15 days.

“We would like to point out that the Code of Administrative Offenses does not provide a warning in this case, but when officers notice a person not wearing a mask, it can warn and remind them of the need to wear a mask,” said R. Janavičiūtė.

In one of the Panevėžys shopping malls, police officers were not wearing protective masks and were in conflict with security guards, and police officers also developed a protocol of administrative misconduct for violating public order.

“It just came to our attention then. The mask was not worn, although he was asked to wear it, security, when he did not go off duty, called the police officers. Upon arrival, the police officers drew up two protocols : for violation of public order and not wearing a mask, ”Padasvėžys County Police Representative Tadas Martinaitis told BNS.

Rokas Pukinskas, Chief Specialist, Prevention Division, State Border Guard Service, told BNS that border guards develop protocols on self-isolation violations when on-call National Public Health Center employees on duty at border crossings.

“The National Center for Public Health is responsible for all self-containment control at the border,” he said.

As of Saturday, the mandatory use of masks has been returned to shops, airports, public transport, leisure and entertainment venues, state and municipal institutions, establishments and companies that provide services. Failure to comply with this requirement will lead to fines.
