D.Razmuvienė also presented the latest statistics: 3 people died from COVID-19 over the weekend, all of them belonged to the risk group due to age or existing diseases.

According to Monday, 118 patients with COVID-19 infection were hospitalized in the hospital, 7 in resuscitation or intensive care, 3 patients were put on artificial pulmonary ventilation and 35 were treated with oxygen masks.

“The leader in terms of the number of diseases in the counties is Kaunas. Vilnius became the third. The second is Šiauliai. And Panevėžys, Klaipėda have three or one case of illness, ”commented D.Razmuvienė.

There were 126 cases of COVID-19 in medical institutions.

Since Friday, 306 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Lithuania throughout the weekend, when, for example, there were 275 such cases in July alone.

“From September 1 to 27, a total of more than 1,500 new cases of the disease were registered in Lithuania,” said a representative of the NVSC.

He stressed that the coronavirus affects the youngest people, who are only 14 percent older. According to D.Razmuvienė, this trend is observed throughout Europe.

When COVID-19 was used in educational institutions, the infection was recorded in 84 of them. There are 111 children, 55 educators involved in the process, and 15 other staff members.

Coronavirus outbreaks are also detected in medical institutions: the largest of which is in Radviliškis Hospital.

“42 employees are ill at Radviliškis Hospital, 20 employees at Šiauliai Hospital. There are not many doctors in Raseiniai, most of them are patients ”, assured D.Razmuvienė.

In total, according to the NVSC, 126 COVID-19 cases are related to treatment facilities. It is true that a representative of the NVSC assured that the chimneys in them are clear and manageable.

It will take more active tests from the doctors.

The Minister of Health, Aurelijus Veryga, announced that doctors and social workers will be evaluated more actively in the affected municipalities.

“As of today, the preventive examination procedure was updated, students practicing in medical institutions will be evaluated and the scope of examinations in health institutions will be expanded. More employees of medical institutions and social care institutions will be evaluated in high-risk municipalities, ”said A. Veryga, chief of emergency operations.

Previously, according to him, the scope of the investigation of such employees ranged between 15 and 20 percent.

“Among the most affected municipalities, where the morbidity rate was highest, are the Raseiniai district and the municipalities of the Radviliškis district, the numbers are the highest, as well as the municipalities of the city and district of Šiauliai, Ukmergė , the district of Kelmė, the city of Vilnius, the municipalities of Jurbarkas, where the indicators are not small, ”said A.Veryga.

No further substantial restrictions are planned

Although more COVID-19 cases are recorded than during the quarantine, there are still no plans to change the emergency regime in Lithuania, the minister said.

“No major changes are planned in the emergency yet. There are constantly some practical corrections that the ministry proposes or provides, but these are not necessarily the provisions that travel to the Government’s resolution,” commented A.Veryga.

D.Razmuvienė assured that municipalities with sources of infection are well managed.

“We see the coronavirus spreading at critical points. Regarding Radviliškis, Raseiniai, Šiauliai, the municipalities manage in excellent cooperation with NVSC and other institutions. They work a lot, but sometimes the public doesn’t always follow the recommendations, ”he said, urging to listen to specialists, not politicians.
