Head of the Rokiškis section of the National Center for Public Health

Two cases of coronavirus were detected simultaneously in the staff of the Juodupė gym. The possible source of infection was immediately clarified, all those who had come into contact with the infected people inside and outside the school. At present (Wednesday – Aut. Past) a little more than nine dozen contacts have been identified, between teachers, students and people outside the school. We contacted them, all of them currently in self-isolation. Continuous work, looking for all contacts. No one has yet provided information about the students, so we do not know if any of them are experiencing symptoms of the disease.

As I mentioned, two people are currently known to be infected with coronavirus. The person, one of whom may have been infected, has already recovered with a negative coronavirus test. The school begins distance education from Thursday.

After quarantine, it is promised to return to contact training.

Dainora Mineikiene

Director of the Juodupė Gym

Finding contacts is quite difficult, so after consulting with the Public Health Center, the district mayor and the head of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, we decided that the best solution is to extend the training remotely for two weeks. This will make it easier to manage the situation and find out if more people are infected. After two weeks, the quarantine period, they will return to contact training: the sick will remain in self-isolation, they will have certificates of incapacity for work and the healthy will be able to return to work.
