The National Public Health Center (NVSC) reports that as many as 255 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed in Lithuania last day, 28 of them in Klaipėda county.
111 cases were recorded in Vilnius, 58 in Šiauliai, 39 in Kaunas, 7 in Panevėžys, 5 in Marijampolė, 4 in Telšiai and 3 in Alytus counties.
After contact with people confirmed by coronavirus, epidemiologists estimated that 169 people were infected. In addition, 9 import cases were recorded during the last day, of which 4 from Ukraine and one from Germany, Belgium, Poland, Norway and France. The specialists could not determine the circumstances of the infection in 77 people. 107 cases are associated with outbreaks.
In Klaipėda County, two cases are related to the outbreak at the Klaipėda Vydūnas Gymnasium, two cases are related to the Kartena branch of the Kretinga Cultural Center.
In addition, on the last day, information about the death of a Tauragė county resident due to coronavirus was received from the Kaunas Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. The person belonged to the age group 90-99, had chronic diseases. Currently, the infection has claimed 110 lives.
In Lithuania a total of 6760 cases of COVID-19 disease have been confirmed, 3635 people are still ill, 132 of them in Klaipėda, 2983 have recovered.
