The National Public Health Center (NVSC) reports that 22 cases of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were confirmed yesterday in Lithuania. 7 of them are registered in Kaunas, 5 – in Vilnius, 4 – in Klaipėda counties. At that time, yesterday 3 cases were confirmed in Panevėžys, in Šiauliai – 2, in Tauragė – 1.
After contact with the sick, 13 people were infected, the circumstances of the infection of 5 people are not yet known. Register import cases during the previous day 4.
Imported cases: from Poland, Turkmenistan and Ukraine
2 of the people who came to Lithuania from Turkmenistan to register in Vilnius county yesterday. Another import case was identified in Vilnius: a person who returned to Lithuania from Poland.
The coronavirus was also confirmed for a person living in Klaipėda County who returned to Lithuania from Ukraine. The person experiences the typical symptoms of COVID-19.
After contact with the sick, 13 people became infected
4 cases detected yesterday (3 in Kaunas and 1 in Vilnius counties) are related to the outbreak in the Adform yard operating in the old town of Kaunas (Rotušės Sq. 20, Kaunas). All subjects were tested for specific symptoms of the coronavirus. Epidemiological studies have shown that people did not travel abroad and did not interact with confirmed cases of COVID-19.
NVSC reports that one of these people works in the Department of Children’s Rehabilitation of the Republican Hospital of Kaunas “Žibutė”. Currently it is found that 20 children had direct contact with this worker, 7 of whom have already been released home. Also as of August 10. Another 15 children who had no direct contact with the infected person but who communicated with each other were hospitalized in the same body. All children are tested for coronavirus infection.
