Dulkys informed family doctors about the campaign: for an elderly vaccinated – 30 euros

It is now possible to obtain the coronavirus vaccine from a family doctor across the country, such news was announced by Health Minister Arūnas Dulkys.

To promote vaccination and better access to certain groups in society, the ministry says that from now on all doctors in the country will also be able to offer the population a COVID-19 vaccine.

“Already in Lithuania, it is assured that all family doctors, if there are such small spots, that they still do not have anything to vaccinate, but if they already want, the vaccines are ready for everyone. Then it is possible to get vaccinated with a family doctor ”, announced the minister on Wednesday after the government meeting.

He recalled that family doctors are already paid a supplement for each new vaccine and it is 5 euros.

“Later, in order to promote the vaccination of the elderly, it was planned that in the case of a person in the 75+ group, 15 euros would be paid for the consultation and vaccination. And now we will organize a one-month campaign, until mid-November, when there will be an additional incentive: 30 euros for a vaccinated older adult, to give them a consultation.

For this, mobile groups are organized in all municipalities without exception. This means that if a family doctor talks to his patients, if he says that he agrees to be vaccinated, these lists are given to a mobile group and she walks these people according to the list and vaccinates them, ”said A. Dulkys .

Promises bonuses for municipalities

He also reported on the promises to the municipalities of good vaccination rates. They will be received by three municipalities, which will be the first to vaccinate 90 and 98 percent. People 75 years of age and older.

“A solution is being prepared, according to which we will encourage municipalities that achieve 90 percent and more of vaccination of the elderly in the group of 75 years or more. Consequently, we will reward the three best municipalities, which will probably reach 90% or 98%, respectively, no later than the first day of December. result ”, said the minister.

“Then we will deliver bonuses of the appropriate size; we will transfer the money to the municipality so that the money goes to the teams that will help achieve that result,” he added.

He did not specify the exact amounts that are expected to be allocated for this, but stressed that the amount of bonuses for specific people will depend on the percentage of vaccination in the municipality.

“The first three municipalities that achieve this result will receive cash bonuses to pay up to 30% to specific people. median salary bonuses, supplements. If the municipality reached 98%, then up to 50%. (average salary), – said A. Dulkys.

At present, the municipality of Neringa has obtained such a monetary bonus for the rapid vaccination of the elderly.

“We already have Neringa. There is only one Neringa. We can be happy that Neringa is an example for other municipalities and the corresponding monetary award will be paid to the municipality of Neringa,” said the Minister of Health.

The € 100 benefit for seniors is called an inconvenient but necessary measure

When asked how he evaluated the benefit of 100 euros for vaccinated elderly people, A. Dulkys said that it was not a desirable measure, but a necessary one.

“It is not a decision that is very convenient to make, it has many elements of discussion of all kinds, problems for the future, but people are dying today,” he said.

According to him, this decision was made in the Cabinet of Ministers taking into account the epidemiological situation and previous measures, which did not give the required result. As an example, he cited family physicians who “cheer on older people for months.”

“We will also use this tool,” said the minister.
