Voluntary vaccination of candidates for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, their coaches and doctors against COVID-19 began in Vilnius Thursday.
Athletes and their team members included in the vaccinated priority list were divided into two groups by government decree. The first Thursday consisted of 82 people. The second group is scheduled to be vaccinated on February 25.
People vaccinated on Thursday should receive a second dose of AstraZeneca 35 days later.
Among the recipients of the first vaccine were four people from Žalgiris: Marius grigonis, Martin Give as, Pablo Jananko Y heel Lukošiūnas. He is also an assistant coach of Kaunas “Žalgiris”. Evaluated Beržininkaitis, who is also a staff member of team strategist Darius Maskoliūnas.
Vaidotas Zajarskas, head of public relations for the Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LKF), told the Krepsinis.net portal that the Olympic team candidates are being vaccinated and that there are 30 basketball players on the list provided by D. Maskoliūnas, but 10 will be vaccinated. The first players on the list were vaccinated on Thursday and expressed their desire to do so. It is true that those vaccinated will not be infected with COVID-19 and will have enough antibodies.
