This became clear on Monday when a Judex technologist, former Deputy Director General Rasa Tušienė, testified at the Vilnius Regional Court.
He claimed that he had met a member of the Seimas on several occasions at the company, spoke on the phone about the production of frozen food and even loaned him money, even though he was not his friend.
During a court hearing on Monday, the woman said she did not remember how much and how many times she had loaned P. Gražulis five or six years ago.
“I don’t carry large sums. (…) I really remember one (once – BNS), but maybe there were more and more times,” said R. Tušienė.
When asked by the judges why she had lent money to P. Gražulis, a Judex employee replied that she did so because she had seen him at the company.
The witness confirmed that in 2015, a member of the Seimas participated in a meeting of Judex employees at the office of the Head of the Kaunas Branch of the State Food and Veterinary Service, where the company’s affairs were discussed. He said he did not know for what purpose the politician visited and who invited him.
Kristina Graužinienė, director of Travel Panorama, who was interviewed on Monday, said that in 2015-2016, Patricija Pachomovaitė, commercial director of Judex and then assistant to Seimas member P. Gražulis, ordered plane tickets for her, P. Gražulis and your son.
“Requests were made both in writing and over the phone,” he said.
According to the witness, all the invoices for the tickets purchased were paid by Judex.
“I only remember that they asked that the surname of P. Gražulis not be correlated (it would not be indicated, in the SNB) in the accounts,” said K. Graužinienė.
Raminta Gražulienė, wife of a former member of the Seimas, said during the court hearing that P. Gražulis had never worked for Judex and did not own shares in this company. As far as she knows, the sole shareholder is Sigitas Mačiulis, her cousin’s husband.
In the testimony of R. Gražulienė published on Monday during the pre-trial investigation, he stated that P. Gražulis and S. Mačiulis had friendly relations, the politician could help and advise the businessman, especially at the beginning of his business.
According to her, the company had previously hired a daughter, Gabrielė, who lives in London, and her son Martynas Gražulis works as a project manager at Judex Spauda.
R. Gražulienė herself has not been working for Judex since 2012, officially divorced from P. Gražulis in 2013, but has not been interested in what he does or where he lives since 2000.
A woman who worked for an accountant at a frozen food company moved to the Judex press and then bought 100 percent. shares of this company.
The Vilnius Regional Court plans to continue the examination of witnesses in the criminal case of P. Gražulis on September 29.
The Attorney General’s Office accuses P. Gražulis of abusing his position as a member of the Seimas from May 2015 to February 2017, as a result of which the state suffered damages.
According to the case, the parliamentarian may have sought and received property benefits from a private company, Judex, acting in the interests of that company and impermissibly interfering with the activities of other public officials in Lithuania and Russia. Also, according to prosecutors, he offered to give money to Russian officials, asking that they act illegally in the interests of the company.
In 2015, Russian officials discovered the Listeria bacteria in Judex frozen food products exported to Russia.
The indictment states that the Seimas member helped handle the problems related to the Judex company: he repeatedly called Lithuanian and Russian officials, asked for bribes and asked to violate existing procedures.
A member of the Seimas categorically denies the blame.
