According to S. Skvernel, measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus were discussed at the COVID-19 management committee meeting.
The medical working group convened by the government presented its proposals in this regard. They, according to the prime minister, were approved.
“Some of what I will mention today, but these are just general principles, about what, how, details will not be true today, because all this will be formalized at the government meeting tomorrow through the relevant government resolutions,” said S. Skvernelis.
The head of government stressed that other European countries are introducing a second quarantine, because other measures to curb the coronavirus have not worked.
According to S. Skvernel, I would like to avoid further restrictions, but there is no alternative.
It is proposed not to organize personal celebrations, to limit national travel, although this will not be prohibited. It is offered to the church to stop services.
The catering establishments are closed; only take away food is allowed.
The operation of the stores will not be restricted, but a specific area per customer will be required.
Hairdressing and beauty salons may continue, but prior registration will be required.
It is proposed to stop the activities of massage parlors, sports clubs, swimming pools, spa centers.

There is a desire to introduce distance education in higher education, with the exception of some study programs in, for example, medicine and veterinary medicine.
S. Skvernel reiterated that these are common principles. But he hopes the government will approve the changes.
At the same time, the prime minister said he hoped those three weeks would help curb the exponential growth in coronavirus cases. However, he emphasized the need for public participation.
According to S. Skvernelis, business support measures will be activated. He explained that he understood the difficult business situation, but that there was no other way out.

During the last day, 897 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Lithuania, five people died.
17,453 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the country.
4,934 people recovered from the disease and 12,283 fell ill.
34,794 people must isolate themselves at this time.
