A Vilnius resident, who did not want to reveal his first or last name or publish the name of the school in the boy’s interest, told Delfi that his daughter’s Thursday lessons ended in tears.
“The children’s class allowed a break outside and the injured girl lost her mask somewhere. It turned out that the daughters no longer let them go to school. Around eleven o’clock, she cried and said she would not let her in and stayed outside the door, “he said.
According to the father, the girls were not admitted by the tutors of the educational institution, and the educator promised that she would come to pick up the other girls as soon as he let her into class.
“But the nine-year-old girl stayed outside for 20 minutes and no one came to pick her up during that time. It was good to have a phone, she could have called us parents. Wife daughter crying 11 pm and I took him out of school “.
According to her husband, the children did not put those masks in all their pockets and those situations should be handled differently, not at the expense of the child’s nerves.
Parent forum: such behavior is illegal
Darius Trečiakauskas, Chairman of the Council of the Lithuanian Parents Forum, stated that such a situation, when a child who has lost his mask is no longer admitted to school, is abnormal. In his opinion, this is a fundamental violation of the rights of the child and the constitutional rights of their parents.
“The use of masks in schools is not mandatory. The basic principle is not to mix flows and that the children are in the classrooms. If that child is left without a mask, he can go and sit in his class without any problem because there is no need for a mask in class.
After the break, when all the children came to class, the hallway rooms were already empty. It will not be the case that the children are crowded. He can go very freely and sit in his class, ”commented D. Trečiakauskas.
A representative of the Parent Forum believes that this curious situation reveals not even a specific school, but systemic problems.
“It just came to our knowledge then. The conclusion is that these requirements, eliminated from above, are physically unfeasible. The authorities put them under the responsibility of school leaders and teachers. Now every school principal is afraid that, God forbid. If something happens, they will impose a fine of six thousand euros. Although both Algirdas Monkevičius and Aurelijus Veryga have publicly stated that they will not be teachers unless they implement all the solutions. They are very aware that it is really impossible to implement them, “said D. Trečiakauskas.
The interlocutor in this situation advised the parents to first try to speak to the school administration.
“It must be said and said that his behavior in this case was not only unethical and antigogical towards a child of this age, but his behavior was also illegal, both in accordance with A. Veryga and A. Monkevičius’ requirements for schools. as with the Constitution. and the rights of their parents, guardians. If they think that they will not behave differently, then the legal process must be started, “said D. Trečiakauskas.
Delfi recalls that the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports has previously stated that students will not be required to wear masks during lessons, but it is recommended that they wear them during breaks and meetings.
