You have probably heard that the majestic but currently abandoned Tiškevičiai mansion is located in Lentvaris. But did you know that you can see another mansion in this small town? This house has no official name, but Lentvarians call it the mansion of Count Timofey, because it was built by Timofejus Petrovičius Žestikovas.
Unfortunately, Mr. Timofey himself can no longer show me his impressive mansion. I was a few years late … Senolis’ wealth is now managed by his family, and his grandson Martinas Raižys is in charge of the mansion.
“This house is mine dieduko a project of thirty years of life. Unfortunately, he died a few years ago, but I think the house will stand for another 100 years. In Lentvaris, a few kilometers away, is the mansion of Count Tiškevičius, built between the 18th and 19th centuries. diedukas I wanted to make a miniature copy of that mansion. In Soviet times, the following saying was popular: we are all the same, but some of us are more equal. Diedukas he also wanted to be the same, but not with ordinary people, but with a count, that’s why he built a house so high that Count Tiškevičius’s castle could be seen from its upper floor, and his grandfather was at the level of the Count. , the builder’s grandson tells the story of the strange mansion. .
The creator of the house believed in the idea of his mansion that he dedicated it all the time. From morning to night, he worked at a construction site, where his colorful life ended.

Timopheus was a stubborn and ambitious man. No one could explain to him that such a house would be too big or not very suitable for the environment of ordinary cabins.
„Diedukas He was a self-taught architect, he designed this house and gave birth to the whole idea himself. However, it is natural that, like any ordinary house, an extraordinary one needs to be legalized, coordinated with the government. I have officially approved documents on Trakai, an approved house project, where you can see that the pencil is printed on the official project printed as diedukas wanted “, – said M. Raižys in the program” Orijus kelias “
Seeing what was happening in his neighborhood, the locals whispered that Timopheus was crazy, and it seemed to many that he did not understand what he was building here. But the grandson Martin defends his grandfather and reveals an impressive fact: he was a bather of high-ranking Soviet figures, he built a sauna even for Brezhnev’s son-in-law.
“He was a true master, who built 106 or 108 saunas during his life, afraid of lying. He welded the boilers himself, built the houses himself, if necessary. “
The divorced grandfather lived with his wife for many years. However, he always believed that building a house would attract a whole family scattered all over the world, so by installing the rooms, he had predicted exactly which place would go to whom.

“Each floor of the house has its own purpose, for example, the first and second floors are mine diedukui and my grandmother, the third floor is for my sister, the fourth is for me. There is a room and my aunts who lived in Germany ”, says the interlocutor about Timofey’s wish to invite relatives under one roof.
Grandson Martin says that no one but his grandfather knew who were here where they should be. When he was building something new, Grandpa Timopheus organized excursions and told him what had occurred to him.
“One of the best memories of my childhood is walking around the house when diedukas They took me and told me where a room was, what I was doing here, what it would look like, ”shares Martin.
The ceiling on the ground floor, the bedroom and the corridors decorated with many paintings are also reminiscent of a real mansion. It is true that not everyone found the right place for them. Although Timopheus gave 30 years to build the mansion, he failed to build and decorate everything. After his death, the paintings were left in the corridors, ready to be pasted. Martin will now have to do this work with other members of the family.
“He went to the libraries, found several encyclopedias or picture books by various European artists, and copied those paintings. These are reproductions. They were glued to a wooden plate and placed on the ceiling, ”says Martin.
There is no higher private house in Lentvaris, so it is only natural that many people look at this building with jealousy. Ordinary residents wouldn’t even think of building something like this. Obviously, a very volatile imagination was necessary.
According to the grandson, the grandfather’s favorite place was the dining room, where he held family gatherings. At the end of the table is a concrete throne – this is where the founder of the mansion sat.
And while the house looks very large from the outside, it can appear claustrophobic from the inside. This is due to two reasons. The house is built of concrete with very thick walls and partitions. You won’t find plaster walls here. Another reason is quite plain and simple: Timopheus was short and squatted all the time. His wife’s height was also small, at only 150 centimeters. She maneuvered very comfortably through all the labyrinths and rooms of the mansion.

What a mansion without seating areas. Timopheus loved to bathe, so he established a special place for it.
The manor house has two swimming pools, one for children and one for adults. The old man set up the large swimming pool on the occasion of his anniversary to celebrate it in style. The pool was only admitted once, and Timopheus jumped into it in all his clothes to be the first to bathe, to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Well okay, you haven’t seen anything like it in Lithuania yet. I have no doubt that this place could attract thousands of tourists. Right here, the main question is: will grandson Martin let them in?
See what the grandson plans to do with this great building in the future, what Timofey has yet to build, and what the grandson plans to do in the future.
