“There is a lot of insecurity, uncertainty, insecurity, fear, probably. We can all see that the system no longer has the scale that has now reached Lithuania. Probably the most painful thing is when we see that patients suffer because of it, ”said Kristina Norvainytė, president of the Young Doctors Association.
A message on the wall of a resident physician at one of the nation’s leading medical clinics states that patients who are enthusiastic about physicians should be aware of the conditions in which physicians work. They do not know when they will leave work or if they will return at night, and the work schedule does not mean anything, because the doctors are at war.
“The exercise was in spring, now we have a war. At least the feeling of being inside the system is really like that. It hurts when we see overworked colleagues and we see this situation get worse for a while longer. People start to run out. Resident physicians have always been easier to plug those holes. Sometimes there is the feeling that there is no equal opportunity, there is no equal rights with other doctors. You know, all doctors now seem like soldiers of the light to me ”, assured Dr. K. Norvainytė on the program“ Hot with tv3.lt ”.
Linas Svetikas, head of the admission department of the Santara Clinics Infectious Diseases Department, says the medical institutions continue to function. Although the number of free beds for those infected in Santara clinics is rapidly decreasing, patients are being referred to other medical facilities in the country.
“It’s not so much about whether a thousand or fewer of those cases are recorded, but how many of those recorded cases have to be hospitalized. With places, the problem becomes quite narrow. Finding a room, finding a bed, but who will treat for those people it can be challenging. However, it will not be possible to get doctors out of nowhere, “said Dr. L. Svetikas.
